The ABA committee is kicking things off, as I “leaked” a few weeks back.

Go check it out. Mad props to him for approaching the ABAs with such reason and constructive thought, and for being quicker to combo than any idiots other than myself (and I was extremely premature).

Before we go much farther, though, let it be known: I do not intend to use Jason Miao’s victory in “Funniest” in 2008 become a point of contention or competition between myself and that man.

Miao on My Mind will be dismantled soon. Look forward to it.

So I’m finally watching Kannagi 09, which people have been raving about. Yeah, it was funny.

But it is also extremely heterosexist.

I don’t usually like making these kinds of assumptions (they tend to fall in the same category as Paranoia Agent’s EPIC FAIL ending of “omg people kill themselves exclusively due to paranoia”), but does anyone else think this might have something to do with Japan’s negative population growth? I remember reading some post(s) somewhere about how an unprecedented percentage of h-manga, etc. not only had ejaculation inside the birth canal, but portrayed it in a positive light in recent times, and that this might be due to national pressure to inspire more pregnancies.

If “things like that” (referring to Jin and Daitetsu being in a homo relationship) “do sometimes happen,” then that’s two fewer impregnated females, right?

Discuss.

Actually, don’t discuss. Go make babies with Japanese school girls. The world doesn’t have enough people in it.

Some highlights (highlight to read, har har):

- Daitetsu becomes a freak show
- lololol you don’t confess to someone just because you think you fit their sexuality
- “You must let everyone know that Jin is a normal boy who likes girls”
- “I can see no reason why Jin would refuse [Zange-chan]” <--- riiiight because if you're a straight guy you'd go out with a hot girl even if you know she's a terrible person
- "OMG I NEED TO PROTECT JIN [from the misconceptions that he's homo]"
- "I need to apologize for insulting you by calling you gay"
- Jin actually caring and seeing the need to do anything about it

P.S. I’m only partially trolling. Also, the French rock.

Today, mellow_bunny mentioned the 2009 ABA. Maybe some of you will remember that I won an award in the 2008 ABA, though I only returned to blogging a couple weeks before the closing of nominations. That, my friends, is a lightning campaign. And I won’t bet my luck on it twice in a row.

I already began my campaign, as CCY-senpai noted, when I launched Miao on My Mind on October 24th. If ABA’s schedule is the same in 2009 as it was this year, that means that I’m giving myself approximately half a year to run.

That’s similar to the US Presidential Elections, where candidates campaigned for two years for a four-year office.

I want to be Obama to the McCain of whoever else thinks they’re a good Satire Aniblog.

To that end, I’m going to have to ask you, my readers, to support me. I know that one of the things that propelled me to victory in May was my tsundere campaign of “vote for me and I’ll fucking hate you.” ( Exhibit A | Exhibit B | Exhibit C ) This, much like campaigning quickly, is a trick I won’t repeat. Please. I fucking love all of you, and everyone who votes for me gets one round of fellatio. If you nominate me in the first round, I’ll let you put it inside. If you nominate me and blog about it, you can do it raw, and if your nomination secures me someone else’s nomination, I won’t make you pull out.

Seriously, guys. I’m spreading my legs for you.

Preemptively.

The ABA<strike>BABABAB</strike> 2009 site isn’t even close to up yet. For all I know, there may be a rule specially disqualifying me. But. Barring all such horrendous hypotheticals, I want to win. I will do anything for it.

Even if that means wearing nekomimi and a maid dress, or erasing my sidebar, or being professional, or loving sports, or liking bad things, or pretending to be intelligent.

I will do it.

LUNCH IN THE ROSE GARDEN?!?!?!!oneoneeleven

It’s been ages since I last blogged trainwreck yuri. How many ages, you ask? Too many (this doesn’t count, because any yuri involving Chikane is automatically excellent). And damn is it good to be back.

I’M REMINDED OF AGONY—SO WHERE’S THE SHELL-MATCHING?

This show isn’t necessarily bad, actually. I just need something to make fun of right now, and Hyakko is too obvious. Toradora! has already been served justice, of course. Now, I’ve not ready any other blogs’ posts on Mouryou no Hako, aside from taking one glancing blow of a look at some post that accused someone of accusing the show of sucking. In other words, I have no idea what the “community sentiment” is. CJ Blackwing told me to watch this and mellow_bunny told me to blog this. That’s all there is to it.

KANAKO BEAM

As for any “real” thoughts I have regarding this show, well. I really did laugh a little when I saw Kanako reading on their date (and immediately remembered Lovely Kitsune’s post, and immediately needed to follow mellow_bunny’s advice). I really was amused by our heroine’s reactions to things and her gradual spiral downward into <s>the sea of oblivion</s> insanity. On the other hand, the show did pique my curiosity: I’m interested to find out what the hell is up with the talking heads in boxes, and stuff. Looks like yuri subplot isn’t over yet because the ED is an endless ring of naked girls, so maybe it’s not actually a subplot.

halo thar, MY NAME IS MR. COCKBLOCK

On the other hand, I absolutely cannot bring myself to care about our heroine (or her fuck buddy). Neither displays any substantial character prior to existing as nothing but insane lesbians. Neither is especially sympathetic, nor is either unsympathetic enough for me to care. They’re just sorta there, dancing under the moonlight.

And I guess that’s okay. Just, not the makings of an awesome yuri.

Buuuut it looks like we’ll be seeing more of this detective guy, and it looks like he might be more of a main character ultimately than our moon-crossed crazies, so things might turn out alright. The show also has a chance to become fucking awesome. Check out this line of events:

our heroine cooperates with Detective’s investigation

Kanako’s servant/brother/whoever Mr. Cockblock is knows Kanako’s secrets

Mr. Cockblock, in order to protect Kanako’s honor, kills our heroine

Mr. Cockblock and Detective have hot buttsex

PLEASE BE GENTLE—T-TOO ROUGH!!

The many faces of Kusumoto.

I CAME A LITTLE, THEN I REMEMBERED YAMI TO BOUSHI TO HON NO TABIBITO. I CAME AGAIN.

HERDING LILIES IS DANGEROUS WORK, BUT ONE LILY FOLLOWS ANOTHER LILY

Would I recommend this show to the casual viewer? Too early to tell. The possibilities seem endless. This could be a really interesting detective story or a really bad story about unrequited love, suicide, paranoia, and rebirth as your lover (again, Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito parallels). There are other directions it could go, too. /me shrugs

I’ll have fun blogging this until I stop having fun with it, I suppose.

Any other shows I should be blogging regularly? Let me know in the comments.
