we're finally notdotq anymore

I watched the first three episodes of Lamune more than a year ago and was bored to tears. This year, my older brother asked me if I’d seen it, he thought it would be my thing. I told him it had bored me, and he asked me “what about Aria?” I stood there dumbfounded for a bit, and then I marathoned Lamune.

The series benefited from the nostalgia of having seen the first three episodes previously. Oh, and it was just good.

I loved close to every moment of the show. The summer imagery resonated strongly with me (being a lover of AIR for purely atmospheric reasons), and the relationship between Ken and Nanami was extremely sweet. I’ve ranted about Lamune twice (once here, and once in CCY-senpai’s comments), so I won’t go too into it now, but yeah. Love that show to pieces.

I’ve mentioned before that I have a “problem” with Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu. I first discussed this in an IRC chat with Mike; he was fawning over the show, calling it the best of the season, and I objected. I said it “did the Ai Yori Aoshi thing.” Mike seemed pleased by that (it seems like a lot of people enjoy Ai Yori Aoshi). I didn’t try to persuade him that it was a bad thing at the time, because I was beginning to concoct a blog post.

Well, that was maybe two months ago now. It’s about time I get that blog post out there.

It’s just as Os said. I’m biting six hundred dollars to meet my gay internet lovers. If anyone reading this is going to Otakon this year, I’d love to meet up with you, too. I’ve sunk the airfare so I might as well meet as many anibloggers/readers as possible. I won’t be cosplaying but I’ll have a yellow Cal hat on. If you need my cell to coordinate with me, that can be arranged.

P.S. Still don’t have reliable (private) internet access. I’ve got fairly reliable internet access at work, but that’s on a government computer on a government network and I’ll be damned if I so much as load this site there. Also, no anime for a while.
