FUCK REVOLUTIONS, I WANT TO LIVE

DS says some big things, and he’s pretty vehement, but personally, I’m not entirely convinced. This is a new stance, and he has just about no experience dealing with bad anime (maybe he can see Haruhi’s shores from his back porch). I, as someone with a long history of battling anime, would prefer it if someone with more dedication were to take command.

I’m not going to say that I am most fit for this role—I know there are haters greater than I—but I would expect someone with at least half as many credentials to step up to the plate (as opposed to someone with none). Without further ado, I present unto you my credentials:

So I dropped Cazador for not being amazing. I decided to stop being a Tsubasa fanbitch, to stop watching shows just for Kajiura BGMs. I dropped Lucky Star immediately because I couldn’t stand it. And now? I’m dropping this, because it’s fucking horse excrement. Hello, Sola and Nanoha, the TWO shows I’m watching this season. TWO, down from last spring’s 35.

Our episode starts with Wataru masturbating to a sleeping girl in lingerie. Umi, one of the many girls who’s crushing on (and living with) him walks into the room. Cue Japanese comedy. Cue my chunks being blown. My computer is drenched; there’s no making of its time. Damn it, I liked my computer. And now it’s all yellow.

“Ooo, a naked lady.”

… yes, Umi, yes, that is a naked lady.

AA~ NATSUKASHII…

I remember bending over for the principal at my school like that. In fact, all my classmates remember me doing it as well. I have no idea why, but for some reason I actually told people about it. I guess I’m a helpless attention whore or something. I told them everything… about the hot chocolate, and the buck-eye, and the discrimination, and how cold it was in that cabin… all I wanted was a college recommendation, I swear!!

NEXT UP IN THE EXCEL DYNASTY…

Today, GTD had us watch some Sakura, some Nanoha, some gay anime, and some Excel Saga. We of course discussed all the funny little details of Excel’s character (by the way, is her EL VA more psychotic than her original seiyuu?) and returned to the subject of the Excel line, a magnificent line of psychos including Yotsuba, Miu, and Tomo, (of Yotubato, Ichigo Mashimaro, and Azumanga Daioh fame, respectively) among others. Here’s another for the roster, though I managed not to catch her name due to her speed of mouth. I also couldn’t catch all her funny poses… my finger on space was just too slow.

I’m officially in the gao camp, but an uguu is fine, too.

ASAKURA~

What’s awesome about her is that the moment I saw her character design, this voice inside my head screamed “student council president!!” and, well, I like being right? Also, she has a cross pin, and awesome eyes, and her hair style is soooooo banal… she also happens to sport the one female voice in the whole show that doesn’t grate.

“I told him not to put that in there… how do I repay him? Machete? Poison?”

Now if only this show grew to have the Higurashi factor (©LK).

How else can you answer this dazzling expression of enthusiasm? Any nay-sayers are jaded bastards upon whom age is wasted.

This is Sawaki’s “I’ll be fighting on auto” face. She doesn’t need a sacrifice with that badass glare.

The one thing this episode lacked was badass fast pacing, like, say, the first episode of Loveless.

SAKURA, SAKURA, EVERYWHERE, AND N’ERE A DROP TO DRINK

So I was laughing inside a little at how emo Umi was getting, because it was over shit like that eating together and saying good night to eachother. You know, silly stuff that sane people wouldn’t worry about. And I’m thinking to myself, is this the best that those Key folks can do? I mean it’s fucking comedic. But then Sawaki’s “tsuzukenai deshou” reminded me that the thing I get emo about the most is change and false eternity (being the terribly mindfucked otaku fanboy that I am) and I shut up. And then I realized that I was mixing this up with Sola, and that this has nothing to do with Key. T_T

“SAWAKICHU! I CHOOSE YOU!!”

Wataru was giving off some serious Takeru vibes with his hairstyle and manner of speech all episode, but then he began pointing and shit and I thought to myself, “orochi to tatakau~”??! And then, as absurd became absurd-er, I thought to myself, “AIZEN?!?!?!?!?!?! OROCHIMARU?!?!??!???!??!!!!?!?! ICHIGO?!?!?!?!??! NARUTO?!?!?!?!!??!?!!??”

By the way, decent ED.

Also, pleasing visuals, and a non-offensive soundtrack. This could be a winner in the “not a hassle to watch” category. Basically, jaalin is wrong to bash it as mercilessly as he does. I’d assume he’s trolling, like he was with that Kanon post, but… this is RC we’re talking about, and RC is serious business.
