According to ghostlightning, his wife, sybilant, hates tragedy. Apparently she enjoyed Honey & Clover all the way through, up until the ending—and apparently the ending was too much for her. When ghostlightning related this to me, I thought to myself, “was the ending… tragic?” I recalled lots of tragedy throughout the course of the show, be it in flashbacks (Morita’s family’s past) or in the present (Hagu’s accident), and compared to these instances of tragedy, the ending just didn’t measure up for me.

… and this is the shit he spews my way. It’s like there’s this sink faucet, and every day I go and brush my teeth using the water that comes from it. That’s what my RSS experience is usually like. Monotonous, maybe, but important and regular and harmless. And things are going fine until I hook Jason into my feed reader—it’s a fucking sewage pipeline, and it’s not supposed to connect to a sink faucet, and my mouth will never be clean again.

In an amazingly good show, DS of Daijoubu has announced that he is fed up with how shitty bad anime is. He has issued a call to arms, and has requested that everyone do their best to back him up in his holy war. One of the things he does in his post that is most unfortunate, however, is that he calls on me as though I need to mobilize.
Does he not know? I’ve been waging this war on my own for years.

The last time I talked about notdotq’s transformation was on October 9th, when I’d just put up a new front page for the site. It was a new face for my anime blogging business, and while at first it was just a quick joke, it is now a very permanent joke: it is here to stay.

I’ve mentioned before that I have a “problem” with Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu. I first discussed this in an IRC chat with Mike; he was fawning over the show, calling it the best of the season, and I objected. I said it “did the Ai Yori Aoshi thing.” Mike seemed pleased by that (it seems like a lot of people enjoy Ai Yori Aoshi). I didn’t try to persuade him that it was a bad thing at the time, because I was beginning to concoct a blog post.
Well, that was maybe two months ago now. It’s about time I get that blog post out there.
