That’s right, bitches. I’m releasing this one day early.
It all began one dreary November evening when I read a comment of CCY’s (“make ccy make a visual novel, the visual novel”) and opened Ren’Py. I began scripting and I never looked back.
Okay, that’s a lie. I’ve looked back many times. But never mind that. Now, I present to you the first major point release in my visual novel project CCY-senpai wa 17sai, henceforth referred to as simply “CCY17″ for convenience. This new version, in addition to the traditional expansion of the story, is packing character art, an improved background for the classrooms, several more bad ends, and music!
This version also heralds the arrival of the official CCY17 website:

Now, I am asking three things of you:
1. Give me feedback. Lots of it. Whatever you can think of. Tell me what worked for you, what made you laugh. What didn’t work for you. Was the “Nice Ideeea” too annoying? Was “Ano Ko wo Rape” too long? Etc.
2. Spread the word. Tweet this announcement, post about it on your blogs, tell your friends, whatever. The more people know about the project, the more people play the game, the more feedback I get, the more motivated I am to deliver the next version sooner.
3. Donate. If you have a couple bucks to throw around, please consider helping me pay Sixten for his art. The game will always be free and I am not trying to make a profit—just to sink a portion of my costs.

Just finished working through all the current routes, gay and straight. Most excellent. At the end I was looking around at the menu selections and clicked on help. The help file opened, but got an event queue full error message. Other than that, no errors and buckets of lulz. Can’t wait for ultra sex. Mmmmmmmm.

First: I LAUGHED.
Second: Make the character sprites bigger.And do zoom-ins. I spent all that time drawing those things and I want people to stare at every little detail.

This was my first time playing anything like a visual novel, and I’m just grateful that you made a Mac version. I liked that you could choose to go after guys or girls and it was fun to pick out the various anime songs you used. I wished there were more character drawings, such as the nurse, but I don’t know if they were excluded ’cause that’s how visual novels work or if it’s cause this is an early edition. Funniest part had to be the total Motteke! Sailor Fuku/You’re Super Special meltdown Bad End that I got. Thanks for making a great game! (And +10 for being free since my ass is dirt poor.)

Mmm, is the “What is love?” option at the barrage of questions at Omo supposed to cut to Jason’s line? Or was lolikitsune just being lazy.
Well, it was nice playing something that I don’t need to translate in my head or edit in my head reflexively because of poor English localizations or I volunteered to. The added bonus is there weren’t many (unintentional) errors at all! That or the evil mastermind has succeeded in his plot of making all mistakes seem intentional. Wait, maybe I did edit it reflexively (damnit).
Things I liked: Marmot-chan (it holds powers greater than an army of overpowered plot device-like mechas piloted by teenagers), Omo’s personality, replay value (in MY visual novel?), Hinano’s class, and Good End.
Needs more: Impz(, Everyone’s gay for), CJ antics, background music variety (I guess that’s covered already), DarkMirage, SOS Brigades, Aroduc (Don’t kill me, please.), and CCY RELEASE!
Needs less: Static on music looping, creepy icon of nightmares (What IS that thing?), random Sacchi end.
Awesome job, I’ll be awaiting the next release.

As far as defying Baka-raptor making you gay, I think it may be a good idea. But wouldn’t that require you to do more work? Would it ignore every previous choices you made prior or would the story continue as if you were never straight to begin with?

It would be pretty easy, actually. There aren’t separate scripts for the gay/straight routes, just conditionals (“if you’re straight, you say this at this point”), and all I would have to do is change the sexuality variable to “gay” after defying Baka-Raptor.
