Home > Archives > 2008 > December > 02 CCY-senpai wa 17sai 0.04Twenty-five days ago, I released v0.01 of this “Visual Novel” called CCY-senpai wa 17sai. v0.01 was a text-only playable demo with only three choices to make and a measly 1600 words of text, tutorial included. This is the third release since. There’s a “real” changelog this time around, so check that out if you’re so inclined.. Right now it seems I’m prioritizing my work on this over more serious writing, so please reward my efforts with helpful feedback :)
So yeah. Please, download this and test it out. Even if you’ve played previous versions. There’s a lot of new content, save games from previous versions should still work, and Skip Mode should remember what text you read in previous versions (it does for me). Anime bloggers featured/referenced thus far: Baka-Raptor (male) Again—I don’t have character art, and I likely won’t ever if someone doesn’t contribute it. There will be credits. There probably won’t be payment. I want this to be an open “resource” for the aniblogosphere. So that people can say “I see what you did thar” and make their own VNs. Yeah. Art? Contribute it. @Choux: I don’t “mind” anything. I can’t guarantee that I’ll use anyone’s art (because there’s the chance that someone else will come by and trump it at some point), but you draw fine and I’ve got nothing right now. If you’d like to contribute some artwork, I would be immensely grateful.

I’m not sure what “lolikitean actually means, by the way. My first assumption would be “having a semblance of trolling, but actually being well-intentioned and insightful,” but that’s clearly not what you meant in your post. I’d guess you were merely using the word as an adjective attributing something to me, which doesn’t really give it a meaning.
Due to work-swamping I can’t devote too much thinking to this topic at the moment, but I can direct you to my post about schools of blogging.

I’d be interested in seeing what happens when you try drawing guys. Though I kind of know what you mean. I’m like that with drawing girls (though you’re better at girls than I am at guys).
So uh, yeah, those are awesome, I like’em. How much are you willing to contribute to this project, by the way? If I have someone willing to commit to doing character art, I think I’m willing to go through with making this game in its entirety.

I’m willing to do character art for the girls (as long as you don’t go crazy and get 20 girls into the game).If you want more than 5 characters, then it’s one pose only (it’s a pain trying to get a second pose to have the same proportions).
I’ll start coloring after you’ve finished deciding on all the characters.

Omo, CJ, Marmot-chan (like in your picture). I don’t need multiple poses, but could I get versions with multiple facial expressions?
Two More Characters: In addition to these three, I’d like Impz and Hinano (the trap and the female teacher from the 4th period electives). Impz should look like… hm, Limone from Simoun, I think. I leave Hinano’s design entirely up to you.
Clothes: I like the uniform you’ve got going for Omo. She and CJ should be wearing just about the same thing as they’re classmates. I leave colors up to you. Marmot can be wearing whatever… doesn’t need to be a uniform.
Facial Expressions: I’m going to assume it’s relatively easy to take the same character and apply different facial expressions. If it’s not, don’t let me boss you into spending too much time on this! It would make the game a lot better if the girls express emotion.
For Omo, CJ, and Marmot-chan, I’d like the following expressions: happy, mildly annoyed, angry, blushing/embarrassed, blushing/happy.
In addition, for Marmot-chan, I’d also like a shy/hesitating look.
For Impz, as he’s minor, I’d like a “happy” expression and a blushing/embarrassed expression.
For Hinano, who’s only going to be in one scene, a flat, neutral look, would do the job.

I mean, if you’re talking about a highschool girl they can go from a girl in Ikki tousen to a girl in gurren lagann to a girl from manabi straight.

Omo and CJ should both look about as old as, say, the girls in Chaos Head, to put it in the context of a current anime. Marmot can look the same age as Primula from Shuffle.
Impz… well, after checking the links I just posted, you should have some idea of how he should look, age-wise.
Physical requirements… I don’t want Ikkitousen boobs, because that’s just gross, not that I’d assume you’d draw them. Omo should be a bit taller than CJ maybe. Marmot should be the shortest.
CJ, as I think you noted, needs glasses (“sexual spectacles” to be exact). Marmot needs extremely long hair and her stuffed marmot, you also got those.
For Hinano’s design, I think I said this before, go bonkers with it, do w/e you want.

I just realized I forgot one, I’d like a “surprised/shocked” expression for Omo, CJ, and Marmot.
Finally, if you do all that and want to help out more (gwehehe), you could draw the nurse from the infirmary scene near the beginning of the game. She should look as generic and stereotypical as possible, complete with an inappropriately low-cut shirt.
I really hope I’m not asking too much of you.

It’s not the completed lineart but that’s pretty much how she’s going to look (I’m definitely going to fix her shoulder though).
I’m starting on Impz after this, then moving on to the other characters.

I actually have everything on separate layers, so that if you want extra outfits or things like that I can just separate the skin from everything else easily, but scanning them all and positioning all the clothes and faces are such a pain…
Anyway, if you think that’s neat enough then I’ll just color them as is, but otherwise I’m going to make a clean CG line beforehand, okay?
