your thoughts have summoned this post from hell so, as i pray... Home > Archives > 2008 > December > 01 What I marathoned because I had too little intelligence #6: Asatte no Houkou1x show. Awesome show, should have taken it slower, and preferably when I was more awake. I began drifting off during the penultimate episode. Anyway, I thought it was strong that the characters were more or less able to recreate the relationships they’d had before their wishes were granted. It shows that they were loved and didn’t need to change. Good stuff. Just one thing: I’d contend that the show could have ended after episode 4. |
it is moist & delicious meta and it's not even a lie! 10 ResponsesLeave a Comment |

I had it at ++ until the final arc (last 6 eps? I don’t remember). I didn’t really mind the ending; it just didn’t take the direction I wanted. In any case, it’s a solid slice-of-life/drama series. Now watch Touch.

I really don’t have time to keep doing these. Maybe once I’m in college… oh wait. Maybe over the summer.

It should be known that the manga it’s based on is a bit darker in tone. Also, while Karada is of the male lead’s family, she isn’t actually his sister.
Still, I liked both the anime and manga, just for different reasons.

I should finish this show, actually, but I never did for some reason :V

Really? Wow. The anime was so… fluffy! I mean, it had its darker moments, but it was mostly bright and cheerful.
Right. That’s the case in the anime, too. Or am I missing something?
Don’t make it a priority. It’s good but it’s not spectacular.

In the manga, Karada is both his cousin and his probable daughter. The anime never did anything to contradict this, but almost completely ignored her origin and his family backstory.
The best way to compare the anime and manga is to say that “what” happens is mostly the same, but the “why” and “how” are very different.

I’m going to hope you mean “probable sister” because his being her parent just came out of left field.
If you did in fact mean daughter, ummm, wooow. 0_0

You heard me. :)
Hiro, upon meeting Karada for the first time in the manga, basically decides to man up and take responsibility for his actions. That’s one thing I’ve felt the anime lacked; it showed Hiro caring about Karada, but never why, or how deeply.

Who’s the mom?!

Hiro’s aunt is the mom, though I forget if she’s his biological aunt, or his aunt by marriage.
