Oh wait, KANNON x Lloyd? But what about Schneizel? :(

Then again, if Lloyd's going for the Harem, he could add Kannon in to. So it's all good.

Lelouch killed more than he needed to—and he paid the price. Him being alive would invalidate that, just as Cornelia not being punished/reformed invalidates <i>her very essence</i>. Somewhere in the show, there should be some message contrary to that portrayed at the end of it all when she charges out of hiding to rescue the hostages: Cornelia is NOT glorious, she is NOT righteous, she is a bigoted jingoistic racist bitch who needs to make up for her crimes (by the way randomly razing Elevens' ghettoes doesn't make her a better leader).

@jobrill - :( KANNON x LLOYD 4EVAHHHH

Heh well yeah, that's true about Cornelia. But then Lelouch wasn't exactly innocent either. He definitely killed a lot more people then he really needed to.

Nevermind about C.C. losing her code. For a second there I thought she'd permanently lost it after the whole thing with Charles.

To be fair, Lloyd and Cecile-san were standing next to each other in the Ougi/Viletta wedding picture, so I choose to believe they may be together. Then again, Milly was standing right there too, so maybe Lloyd got the harem going. >:)

Also: Since we didn't see Sayoko at all in the ending shots, I'm saying she is Orange's Waifu anyway. Anya is either Jeremiah's long lost sister, Sayoko and Jeremiah's adopted daughter, or Jeremiah's long lost Sister.

As you say, Cornelia was not worse than any of the other Britannians (well, with the possible exception of Euphemia, and a few civilians here and there), but that's <i>really fucking bad</i>. The entire country was <i>evil</i>. Racist, brutal, etc. Bad form.

When did C2 lose her code?

Just to address issue 2, there was a scene where after Nina helped Lelouch he told her she was a good person. Yeah... I didn't buy it either, but they tried. As for Cornelia she barely did anything in R2 except look hot and it's been a long time since I watched R1, but I don't remember her being any worse than any of the other Britannians. She was just stronger with more power. Lelouch needed a good enemy like that. I'm sorry that her character became pointless and the final boss ended up being the apathetic Schneizel.

Oh, and I think C.C. was happy because Lelouch finally achieved his goal - making the world a better place. And she finally achieved hers - she can die now that she lost the code. Which was all thanks to Lelouch, in a way.

The internet has totally ruined this ending for me with their insistence that Lelouch lives. I can't watch it without wanting to bang my head on my desk.

You can compete against other things than those around you, frankeinstein. You can compete against yourself, always struggling to be better. Also, if you get a job that someone else doesn't get, they should just get a different one. And if everyone is living to please those around them, the decision is fair and the person who didn't get the job doesn't feel bad about not getting the job.

Maybe you can't live and please everybody in our world as it is because too many people are too selfish. We're talking about a hypothetical, here... if everyone were (for supernatural reasons) suddenly transformed into considerate people, the world would be changed for the better.

I hate to break it to you guys, but Sunrise threw in lots of possible hints there (except for the Orange-kun one), yet it's still alright to dismiss them all (due to sheer ignorance, stubbornness or private issues) and believe that Lelouch has actually died. I know it's a nice end when the watchers are given such option.
http://animeotaku.animeblogger.net/2008/09/code-geass-r2-25-so-is-lelouch-dead-or-not/

So do I prefer him dead or alive? Well the other cast members are having their own super happy endings so I figure why not let Lelouch have his own : after Geassing the whole world into believing he's dead, Lelouch is now enjoying the rest of his eternal life with C.C. in Europe :).
“live in a way that doesn’t hurt those around you." ---> duh. why don't ya tell them to divide by negative zero instead? Competition = evolution. You can't get a job without making a guy lose his. Even Alicia hurt Akira, in some ways... There's an old saying where I live, "you can't live and please everybody". I don't know about Akari, but you get the gist.
