So I (finally) played Ren’Ai Blogger
My main complaint is that it went by too fast. I wanted to see Chase struggle for a few months before finally cracking his target. Buuuut that’s not such a big deal. Thanks Hinano!
Next time get better at using punctuation.
Specifically, commas.
They aren’t your enemies.
Also, I only played the CJ route because—well. *ahem* ANYWAY. Needs moar. You can help by creating a sequel or extended second version. Alternatively make an entire game dedicated to balancing Chase’s budget while he bleeds money for CJ’s yaoi habit. That’d be awesome.
On a more serious note, and because I’m kind of out of the loop: is there any news on further such works from anyone? Is anyone making more aniblogger-related games or whatnot?
I need more.
More!!!
THE PEOPLE ARE CRYING OUT

You can go to renpy.org and look at the released games list. There’s over 100. Whether or not anyone is making blogger related ones though I don’t know.

P.S. Grammar Nazi. Next time read the credits and blame JPMeyer for not checking it through.

I’m familiar with the games list (I’ve done some stuff in renpy myself) but it’s so impersonal :( I wanted to know if like, someone I know in this community had created anything else on this level.
As for the grammar—I _did_ read the credits as a matter of fact. And let me say that, were I japes, I would give up on correcting your lack of commas after the first scene. It felt like the game was on some kind of sugar high, or something. Every line of dialogue felt rushed. There was no thoughtfulness. There was no calm or reflection. Just bam bam bam.
And that made it less enjoyable for me :(
Though! I did like the constant use of ellipsis. That was hot.

re: commas
I think Hinano is above commas.

WHY DID YOU ONLY PLAY MY ROUTE, YOU CREEPER? :O
Hinano 12:11 pm on September 4, 2008 Permalink |
Since when do dating sims have thoughtfullness? Most of the time it’s “meet girl, screw girl”. With the exception of Clannad where there was so much dialogue I wanted to hurl (especially with Pooko’s route ew.)

A call, for, more commas, is needed, seriously, really, no, seriously.
lolikitsune 1:10 pm on September 4, 2008 Permalink |
@CJ: you know why.
@Hinano: *shrug* I’ve never played one before. What are you trying to say, that context is important? Come on now. :P
@C.I.: poetry. That’s all it is, poetry. I love you.

CJ’s route’s alright, but play Natsuko or Hinano’s, at least. Those are the two I remember as being the best. Y’know, mysterious blogger in-joke conspiracies aside. It’ll only take 30 minutes after all. XD
Uh, in terms of aniblogger game / novel works, I know there was another VN called “The Childhood Friend” from Hisashiburi that went around a while ago…a few anibloggers write original works or pieces sometime … and I decline to state my own situation.
I would almost half-seriously consider throwing together some cheap, lazy, meme/idiocy-filled unofficial expansion pack featuring more anibloggers, maybe just a mock-up or something, but the whole ‘college’ thing is kind of a timesuck. It’s tough to weigh merits of ‘failing college’ versus ‘Satchan route’.

@Cirno: I thought her route was pretty lame actually (how easy can a girl be? whore) but still, it was CJ. That’s all I have to say on the topic.
Also thanks for the reminder that like, renpy games are easily editable. Maybe I’ll steal this from Hinano and fuck it up bad.
@Baka-Raptor: you kept my fragment. Good job.
