The Mizunashi Mode – notdotq Conundrum

I read a post on Yukan! Blog this morning, and decided to click on the blogroll link in the sidebar to see if my blog was linked. It was (thanks for that, blissmo), but its description gave me pause. I remembered, in reading that description, how this blog is identified in the aniblogosphere: I’m trollikitsune, notdotq is lulz and dipshittiness, etc.

How do I reconcile that with my attempt at sutekiiiiiiiii~~~~~?

There’s the obvious Michael route (srs bsns) but that is also counter to Mizunashi Mode. Whether it’s slamming bad shows for being bad or revealing that I actually do, in fact, like Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (no lie—that wouldn’t be wonderful), a serious and well-thought-out post inherently asks for challengers, and starting internet debates isn’t something I want to be doing right now.

I could continue to troll, claiming that it’s all playful and that it’s a wonderful point of myself, but that wouldn’t fly so well. My brand of trolling is highly inflammatory and profanity-ridden. Not too nice.

It seems as though all I can do in Mizunashi Mode is write about Mizunashi Mode. I’m also laying off the whole pirating thing for a bit. It’s kinda un-suteki, as noted by icystorm. I’m still writing (dotq.org) but aniblogging’s going to stay dry for a bit, unless you guys have some marvelous suggestions.

Finally a brief note: <3 to everyone who’s trying out their own versions of the experiment.

it is moist & delicious meta

and it's not even a lie!

  1. You could buy an anime dvd or boxset and review it.

  2. Or even buy some of the streaming series that are currently coming out (e.g. Blassreiter).

  3. Or you could play my game.

  4. @Kabitizin: excellent suggestions. I might well try one or both.

@Hinano: perhaps. Is it a suteki game? Is it free to download? Am I in it? etc.

  5. what she said. or you could just do what you do… aren’t the “catch yourself” moments part of Mizunashi month anyway :)

  6. Why don’t you change your blog’s name to “notdotq the natural”? A fresh name for a fresh start.

  7. Thanks for the idea. I think this fits better, though.

  8. I actually tried Mizunashi mode. I didn’t need to change a lot, but I couldn’t greet people when I walk alone. I do put my chin up now, though, but greeting people randomly is just not my thing.

My niceness is not that of ebullience. So it’s really hard to smile and stuff like that for me.

  9. I’m always nice

  10. @Michael: it’s not about “random,” it’s about being comprehensive. Greet everyone. Include everyone in the love. :3

    @blissmo: I agree, you’re a fairly wonderful human being.

  11. Fine, then why don’t you change it to “Serial Experiments notdoq”? You could make the subtitle “Wonderful Protocal version 7″ or something like that.

  12. Being comprehensive is worse. As I said, my kindness is not that of ebullience, but subtlety. Oh well.

  13. The human body and mind are odd things. If you go without sleep for long periods of time, your body will make up for it by sleeping longer. Similarly, if you release stresses on your body, such as gravity, the body begins to weaken, adapting to the environment.

I just thought I should point out that we don’t see anything along the lines of recovering trolls. We may find that either trolling vanishes without use or it will explode in a lulz driven orgy of mayhem and decadence the likes of which this internet has never seen.
