I have no regrets: I do not serve the masses

So, the results of the People’s Choice Anime Blog Awards are out. As expected, Jason Miao (great king of ignoring the fact that there’s an aniblogosphere) took the award for funniest blog. As expected, Hinano (great queen of having accessible posts) took the award for best satire. I’ma quote a comment posted by Lametastic a couple weeks ago:

There will come a day when only animebloggers will read animeblogs beacuse the MASSIVE FAGGOTRY and DRAMA will drive people away. Have you noticed how most of the comments in animeblogs are done by other bloggers.

A long time ago, I had a lot of non-blogger readers. Then they all started blogs. Now I have a bunch of bloggers who read my site. That’s called aniblogospherical expansion. My posts cater to the people who’ve been reading the site for a long time. They cater to the people whose blogs I’ve been reading for a long time. They generally serve to strengthen the bonds between myself and others in the community. I stopped roping people in a long time ago.

As such, my posts don’t appeal to a wider audience. For the most part, they’re impossible to understand if you have don’t have the context, and the context is rarely anime but often anime blogging. So in total I have fewer readers than Hinano.

But.

I like my readers. You guys—bloggers, mainly—are awesome people to be able to withstand my usual trolling faggerism. And if there’s ever a judgment day that leaves only anime bloggers behind, I know that I’ll find myself surrounded by friends.

Now you guys could stop fucking sucking and go tell all your friends to read this blog; I need more readership so that I can win People’s Choice next year, damn it!

it is moist & delicious meta

and it's not even a lie!

  1. I-I am your friend, lols!

  2. The blogger’s award will be even more fun as a contrast. Can’t wait to see your response on it.

  3. I will agree with you when you say that some of your posts are impossible to understand if you don’t get the context. Sometimes that’s what I experience when I read your blog. I don’t have a clue what your talking about in those and I really don’t try to force myself.

My blog apparently doesn’t appeal to the masses. Because I get not a damn comment. Of course, some of my posts are ones where not much can be added. Oh well, I just recently restarted my blog. What do I expect.

  4. Accessibility is a big factor in being recognized by people. The winners of the PC awards all have this with a unique blogging style to boot. They’re the popular ones, and I was expecting these results, actually. :)

For those who won, congratulations! :D

  5. Crap! I submitted the comment before checking it. I meant to say that I don’t try to force myself to follow everything in all your posts.

  6. And if there’s ever a judgment day that leaves only anime bloggers behind, I know that I’ll find myself surrounded by friends.

    Embarrassing remarks are prohibited!

  7. At least some of your readers don’t constantly ask you where to download Kamichama Karin or Shugo Chara manga scans. Also you don’t have narutard weeaboos threatening to gang up on you at anime cons.

    You should be happy!

Also I am shocked I got best satire, as I thought I’d get the funny category instead. I’m pretty sure I was losing hard in the bloggers choice for that one.

  9. I DO tell my friends about you. They just get scared away by your horrendous yuri fics and general… er, crude language T____T

  10. …!?
A mysterious voice rings in your head, the strength of the Jester social link has increased!

    A touching speech there, really!

  11. Impz, I was ahead by THREE in the blogger’s choice when it closed. I only voted for myself once, do NOT tell me I lost.

  12. Hey, wait, do I even get a ‘congratulations’ or something, LK?!?! You twit, you didn’t even mention me in your entire post! I’m a rule 34 star now, and you COMPLETELY act as if my blog doesn’t exist!

You have used me and tossed me aside like a battered doll. *sniff*

  13. I didn’t read the winners in the other categories. Congrats, CJ.

By the way, stop IMing me when I’m not around. If you have something you need to profess (such as your undying love for me), shoot me an e-mail.

  15. Not reading the winners of the other categories is crap. My alleged ‘undying love’ for you is also crap. Therefore, you are crap.

  16. No matter what happens, I’ll always love you LK

  17. *Sniff…*

    I love you too man!

  18. The level of heart power surrounding this post is over 9000!

  23. Some dude broke it.

  24. Then how are you commenting…?! xD;

  25. I’m using every machine I can get my hands on, for limited bits of time each.
