lolikit’s MAL adjustments – now with 129% more hatred

For a long time, my average score on MyAnimeList.net was about 2 points lower than the average of other peoples’ average scores on the site. Recently, it shot up such that it was only 1.32 points lower. This was likely a combination of me giving a slew of good shows 10/10 and other people giving those same good shows 8/10. Anyway, -1.32 is of course unacceptable, so I went through my Dropped list and rated all those shows—they had all been unrated. MAL defines 1/10 as “Unwatchable” and seeing as how I had dropped the shows on my Dropped list I gave each and every one of them a 1/10.

lolikit is a hater when it doesn't come to aria

ahhh, satisfaction

V!

  1. arbitrary #’s -_-

  2. Dude, that’s a lot of anime. #___#; Sucks that you’re such a pessimist, though. I wonder how my scores are doing compared to everyone else…

  3. looks closer to 130% more hate…. XD

I myself have trouble putting in all the old shows I have watched… I am partially in and lost my way. I also rate them higher than they deserve… like Negima! a 6… 0_o

  4. Does changing the scores in the “Dropped” category really affect the deviation in the “Completed” category? I thought those scores remained independent of each other. Whatever though…rating shows you didn’t even watch a quarter of (let alone the entire thing) is pretty lame. =/

  5. Let’s face it, you think you’re cool because you’re different. Or is that “You think you’re different because you’re cool?” — wait, shut up. Don’t answer that one.

  6. Deranged, I think I learned division in 4th grade. How about you?

Sagacious, the averages I discuss in the above post are averages across all subsections of my list, and don’t include only “completed.”

CJ—you just want the program to tell you that you have high compatibility with me, admit it.

  7. (3.02-1.32)/1.32 is actually 1.29 when rounded to the two decimal places, but close enough.

  8. Well, fuck.

  9. I honestly don’t think it’s that hard to get a wide deviation. I’m on -2.71 without bothering to give scores to half my dropped list.

There are far too many kiddies/n00bs giving 8s to any anime that moves because the only other anime they’ve seen is Bleach.
