Anime Blogging Panel #2

It degenerated into a random memegy/ab-related jokes. Lots of Jason bashing. Some hand-drawn graphs (I commented on the fact that “GTFO” is not a function). I mentioned my love for Drm and Impz’s state as a trap. Uh, we got lots of questions (which was good) and gave lots of answers (which was better) and then, towards the end of the panel, Zalas (guy who did a few awesome MADs, and the MAD panel Pangya panel yesterday) came in wearing a “Gao Gao Stegasaurus” shirt and that was cool. He went on to do a panel about translating visual novels after our panel, and it wasn’t too interesting for me, but hell—the guy knows what he’s talking about. He’s awesome.

Uh… our audience was cool. Calaggie showed up as he’d promised, but Spiritsnare skipped out on us (lamer). A few more of my friends were present than the day before, so that was fun. We actually said some on-topic things here and there, about killer lolis and Suzumiya Haruhi being dead, etc. I refrained from calling Nagato Yuki a helpless slut. All in all, fun. Guy in audience had an Apple logo on his hat. Another random guy in audience was a fan of AIR, which pleased me. Also, we desu’d our own panel. >_>

The last part of our panel was going around the room and asking people what they thought of my sign.

Brief History of the sign

Last year at Fanime, while in line to register, Tanuki Nao drew me this sign that says “<3 ME I'M LOLICON"—some of you may remember the picture of me with it from last year. The sign is also my Facebook avatar. I got lots of laughs, lots of distressed glances, some horrified glares, some people taking my picture. It was fun, so I wore the sign again at AOD in August. There it was confiscated by con staff and when, at the webcomics panel, the topic was brought up, Dom of Megatokyo called me a disgusting human being for the sign (this was while he was talking about his four year old cousin and making groping motions with his hands. Fucker). Anyway, moral of the story is the sign is awesome. Wore it again this Fanime, got a lot of interesting reactions.

Now that we’re done talking about the panels, let’s go on to chronicling the success of my sign-wearing.

lol i loev pizza
One guy asked me what “lolicon” meant so I said I liked people who didn’t like pizza. He was pretty nonplussed, apparently not recognizing the reference. Later on that day, he saw me again and shouted something about how pizza is good and I suck. I stopped to explain that my “fixation” results in my getting more pizza. He then high-fived me.

The Harutards at the con were gathering for a photoshoot and to do Hare Hare Yukai, so I asked the HG cosplayer to ruin it with random intrusive pelvic thrusts. He agreed, saying,”just for you, lolicon.” (Harriet Susan Meyers is dead)

Little girl with nekomimi gave me a hug, claiming that she loved lolicons. Later on, she gave me another hug, exclaiming “more heart!!”

what the fuck
One guy saw me from a distance, and approached me slowly, all the while removing one of his earbuds very dramatically. When he stopped a couple feet away, he exclaimed “what the fuck?!! so you’re a pedophile?” I couldn’t stop myself from laughing at this, and a man nearby quipped, “does it matter?”

I’m sitting outside waiting for the Hare Hare Yukai to start and the head of the Bay Area SOS-dan approaches me. He asks if I’m not by any chance shotacon, too, because he’s only seventeen. I smile sympathetically and shake my head, explaining that I’m only sixteen years old. He bursts out laughing, and, amidst laughs, tells me that it “doesn’t work.” I tell him it does—I get more pizza. He, unlike mr. info desk, got the memeference, and was pleased beyond belief by my joke. My supremacy over Harutards is supreme.

Guy peeks around a support column at my sign, blinks once or twice, then runs away.

A woman came up to me, took a picture with her cellphone, said she would post it on her livejournal. I smiled.

/d/
Some time between eleven and midnight, I got photographed by some dude with a real camera and a hearty laugh. I asked him to post the pic on /d/. He didn’t get it at first, but then he did. And he laughed moar.

I walked through a group of people, one of which commented on how gross lolicon is. I agreed, admitting to the fact that I hurt myself at night for it. Someone else in said group muttered something about shotacon, and then then some girl whacked me with her tentacle-arm.

ah, memory
Some dude remembered me from last year. Hot, if it weren’t for the fact that he’s a creep. And a noob. He first got on the “internets” with YTMND in 2003. He’s no longer allowed to speak.

stand up
At the 4chan panel last night (Damn you Internets #2) there were lots of loli jokes made. At one point, onii-tama and all my friends shoved me out of my chair and made me stand up. I don’t think the panelists saw the sign, but everyone nearby was like “OMG LOL.”

I’m going to make a post about the 4chan panels later. They were effin’ awesome (my last uninformative post doesn’t do them justice). All I know is that I like Lucky Star because of them, and they’ve made me racist, and … gyah. Mexican guys in maid uniforms are sexy. Also, jason? AND AND AND Jared is fucking awesome.
