Majime na Lolikit
I just watched Ouverture, and I gotta say, wow. It was so much better than the two Rozen Maiden shows… in fact, so much so that I was amazed. The fights between Shinku and Souseiseki were fast-paced and high-powered, unlike the weak shit that comprises most of the so-called “fights” in the TV series. There wasn’t much of Suigintou fighting, but what there was was good—her powers are clearly the most awesome, being reminiscent of Nero Chaos in a sense.
Anyway, the OVA had only a few seconds of Kanaria (and she was completely lacking in the second episode) so that’s a major plus. Suiseiseki wasn’t too emo, and had some pleasuredrone moments in the first episode. Shinku smacked Jun around a bit. And finally, the whole bit with Shinku practically raising Suigintou was… well, for lack of better words, touching.
It would be nice if they did more episodes like these two, devoid of crap and full of character background.
I wouldn’t mind two episodes dedicated to Suiseiseki and her brother and their incestuous relationship :3
Also, I hope they do another TV series. Terrible though Kanaria is, I kind of want to meet the real Bara Suishou, and find out more about who Laplace’s demon is, and Shinku needs to bring Souseiseki and Chibi-chibi back to life. Of course, more desu is never a bad thing, either.
Eheh…
And, with that, I head for a bit of studying and then bed. My second AP is tomorrow.

Obviously, but here’s more.
Using Souseiseki as a representation of your Ego, we can see not only repressed fantasies, but your suppressed masculinity that later manifests itself online, as a loli/kitsune suggesting you’re also fascinated with the dual identity of innocence/deception; your alter ego also wields a phallic device (scissors) used to de-masculine anyone or anything that stands in your way, which is an irony in itself because you reject the idea that Souseiseki is female, thereby explaining your attachment towards turning her into the dream androgynous hyper-male, or Omega Male in your case.
The loli/kitsune multiple personality can be explained since innocence here represents your innate femininity that now is stifled in order for you to express your male self that you never could be, in other words, the kitsune part of you that symbolizes deception and your attempt to hide your gender crisis from the world through a new gender hybrid personality, on the internet.
Through relating this with Shinku, the most mothering of the Rozen Maidens we see evident conflict with regards to the oppressive matriarchal figure in your life. Perhaps in the past you saw the need to go against this figure, or figures, which is why you can relate so much to this flashback in Ouverture. Also, there is a possibility that this matriarchal figure is the one that is suppressing your masculinity, hence your battling of her with a phallic symbol, which is also why you called it “fast-paced and high-powered” as opposed to the rest of the conflict in the Rozen Maiden series which is female in nature and an idea you obviously reject since it does nothing to redeem your maleness.
Also, your pent-up fantasy here is to die for the little girl. By dying you mean giving up your Rosa Mystica, which is symbolic of a) your online persona b) your virginity (blossoming flower, symbolism omg) c) your ID — all at once, and by little girl you mean person related to you but not quite, which is Suiseiseki aka desu aka rule 41 aka my blog aka me.
Which means, in other words, that this was all a cry for my attention, because you secretly wish I was your female twin sister that you want to bone (or if I’m a trap, only after you put those scissors to good use by castrating). Too bad for you I’m straight btw, go DIAF.

Owen, the cuttingly accurate nature of your comment overshadows its failures. Though I don’t wish you were my female twin for me to bone, the loli/kitsune thing (along with the scissors) was kind of frightening. It always chills me when Freud is right.
