your thoughts have summoned this post from hell so, as i pray... Home > Archives > 2007 > February > 09 Live-action “God Knows”And hear me out boys… God knows it was terrible. First let me give you some background. There’s this school in my area. It’s awfully preppy and elitist. And has a really pretty campus. Anyway, they’re private, and they charge like a million USD per year in tuition, so there’s no way anyone sane would ever go there. Hence me having several good friends who attend. And tonight was a music event at said school. Lots of people displayed lots of talents, and one of those talents happened to be AMV timing… the president of the anime club of said school is a rabid Haruhiist (much to my chagrin, I haven’t yet killed her for it) and performed “God Knows” in full costume (ponytail~). I say full costume because the bunny suit leaves so much skin bare. Most unfortunately, President took the stage in seifuku. Now let me say this: President’s a totally good Haruhi. She has the tsundere thing down pat. (I know this from experience.) Unfortunately, the gods of tech weren’t smiling upon us and the first few seconds of the song were marred with microphone volume flying all over the place and the guitars being silenced for the first run through the opening riff… Good points? The wizard hat. It was awesome. Yes, President had a “band” behind her. And one guitarist was wearing a wizard hat. Also, the AMV in the background was pretty cool, I guess. I WONDER WHAT HARUHI WOULD HAVE TO SAY ABOUT AN AMV MADE FROM ILLEGALLY DISTRIBUTED FOOTAGE. Bad points? Six people on stage instead of four. A second singer (who I would call entirely auxiliary were she not a central part of the realization of this tragic event) and a second guitarist (whose usefulness I am unable to evaluate) cluttered the stage. Clutter, I say. IT MUST BE REMOVED. Of course, the most important point was that the performance sucked as much as it should have. Not in terms of how skilled the performers were, but rather in terms of the material. “God Knows” blows. Everything about it blows. Its importance to the show whence it comes is humongous if only because it is there to allow the concert animation. It is there to allow SHnY to reach a milestone in television animation. Is it there to be good? To be a rocking ditty? NO. It’s shit. And yeah, this performance embodied that quite well. And for that, it was perfect. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. LK orgasmed 6 times, Pip. “God Knows” aside, the evening had many other awesome points. I got hit a lot by President, got to say dirty things about President’s imouto, and got to see someone I really wanted to see. All in all, a good night, whether God knew it or not. |

Speaking as an attendee of said school and said concert, I can vouch for all of the above. Also, President hit me far more and harder than she hit you… we can only hope that the amount of deredere is not proportional to the amount of tsuntsun.

my dad has pictures….and it was 6 people instead of 4 because none of the instrumentalists could sing, and there are two vocal parts in the band score, whether you like it or not, and because neither president or i could play guitar… god knows i tried :)
