Well, I launched the Kanon 2006 Tracker approximately one week ago today. It’s averaged 200 raw hits/day, so either you dorks are refreshing incessantly or it’s simply getting a lot of traffic. Let’s get down to business, shall we?

In two episodes, there have been around 44 instances of the phrase “uguu~” uttered. I say around 44 because one of the 18 in Episode 01 was said by Yuuichi (which might not count according to some) and twenty of the 26 in Episode 02 are a rough estimation of the value of the “guuguuguuguuguuguu…” train that derails when Ayu runs into the tree. Fourty-four- that’s four times eleven, eleven being the number of times Misuzu managed to say “gao” in all 12 episodes of AIR. (Episode 13 doesn’t count because it’s wtfrecap)

Let’s do some more math.

44 “uguu~”s/2 episodes = 22 “uguu~”s/episode.
11 “gao”s/12 episodes = rounded up (let’s be generous), 1 gao/episode.
Kanon = 24 important episodes
AIR = 12 important episodes

Trends say that for each of AIR’s “gao”s, there will be twenty-two “uguu~”s in Kanon, supposing the shows are of equal length. This means that it’s expected for there to be 242 “uguu~”s in HALF of Kanon. I’m banking on FOUR-HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-FOUR instances of “uguu~”. Boys, that’s a shitload of moe.

On to less mathy stuff.

In two weeks, the predicted five fansubbing groups leapt into the fray, releasing a total of… who knows how many LQ/HQ versions, and who cares? Across two episodes, we have six raws and eight fansubs released so far.

We have fourty-nine bloggers who’ve written about/are blogging Kanon.

And we have one winner who recognized the tracker on a separate site!

Finally, unless ANO’s series cloud is muchly flawed, this will be the 93rd entry regarding Kanon registered on the ANO aggregator. And that’s just ONE AGGREGATOR. Kanon is fucking huge, man. It would be rocking the ABSE if Corydorf were still around…
