100th Completed – Fate/Stay-night

So, I’m going to die an early death, eh? I have what, 7 days to watch all the anime I can before my life wears out as a result of FSN being my 100th completed anime title?

Well, we all know what they say about attack names in anime. The final battle boils down to that, effectively. Saber and Gilgamesh both scream their sword names and swing. It’s a race, you know? Whoever finishes saying theirs first wins the fight. I think Saber’d have a greater advantage if she said “excalibur!” instead of “ex… …. … CALIBUR!” but who am I to say? I’m no Nasu.

fsn

I KIND OF DON’T WANT HIM TO DIE, NOW THAT SABER FIXED HIS HAIR.

fsn

“MY TURN TO YELL BAD GERMAN, BITCH!”

Saber beats Gilgy, Emiya beats Mr. Catholic Priest, everyone’s happy. Except for Emiya, of course.

fsn

“WHAT THE FUCK, NASU!”

Emiya’s as confused as we are. He’s also kind of unreasonably pissed for someone who just won the internet without a scratch. He needs a cock in his mouth, bad.

MAYBE KOTOMINE WASN’T A CATHOLIC.

Or else why would the little kid that he was molesting be a girl?

fsn

SHE FIXED HER OWN HAIR, TOO.

I’m shipping Saber x Gilgamesh now.

And back in Emiya’s home, we get to see his “my harem is down one” face. On the right, Ilya’s “you’re only going to put one finger in my vagina, Tiger?” face.

I once said in a comment on Hopeless-sensei’s blog that right now, I’m liking Soul Link more than Fate. After a couple people treated me like I was out of my mind, I followed it up with a quick statement that this was most likely due to the fact that I really wanted Fate to be over, and that Soul Link was at least something new. And that in the long run, I’d remember Fate as a better show.

I don’t think that’s going to happen. If I remember Fate out of the pool of 140-odd (and growing) anime I’ve seen, it will be as a great waste of time. At least a lot of the crap anime I watch can give me a couple chuckles, or cause me to raise an eyebrow or two. Fate never really did that. And it was a HUGE time investment. 12 hours straight just watching every episode. This isn’t counting rewatches, which occurred frequently due to screenshot-taking, presence of friends, etc. Then there’s the time spent blogging episodes 12-21.

Was it worth all the time? Sure, in a sense. It gives me something harmless to bitch about and fills my site with useless content. In terms of the show as an anime, though, of course not. It was sub-par to the max. The plot was cliched and had no “power”, the characters were lame and had no “power”, even the fights (saving grace of many other shows) were stills and had no “power”. The show was weak. And it will forever be weak.

I have some sympathy for other people who lost time watching it. I feel sorry for my friend who insisted for more than half the show’s run that it was one of the best anime series ever. I feel especially sorry for my readers, who’ve endured my bad jokes for 13 weeks now. Let this series rest in peace… let’s move on to Innocent Venus and Chokotto Sister.
