Season Taking Off? …shit.

So, as you should know if you keep an eye on my sidebar’s anime list, I’m keeping track of an absurd number of shows this season. And until now, I felt fairly comfortable in my conviction that most of the shows I was watching sucked. You know, I could drop them at any point without remorse. And hey, it boosts my stats.

But with the last week’s load of episodes, I’m going to have to rethink my strategy. This is because most of the shows I’d been bored aired really good episodes recently. Let’s examine the anime I’ve watched in the past seven days, shall we?

.hack//Roots 5: I was pretty bored with this one for the first couple episodes. Now things are starting to happen, it would seem. Characters have started interacting with eachother on a more complex level. Haseo has stopped being Squall.

Black Lagoon 2+3: wow. I can’t believe I gave up on this show after the first episode. I’m truly glad I picked it back up, because episodes 2 and 3 were awesome. Rock is the most kickass salaryman ever.

Disgaea 3+4: unlike the above two, I’m liking this less and less with each passing episode. If I were to drop a show, this would be high on the waiting list. Flonne and Etna switching? Come on, that wasn’t funny. I like how it bothered Laharl though.

Ergo Proxy 8: wow. Just wow. I find myself loving the world portrayed. The colors and feel of the show make everything fit together, and this episode especially (with no Romdeau) was full of everything I like about the show (lolirobot Pino and stark hostile world.) Female Proxy was hot, too.

Fate/Stay-night 9: vast improvement over last episode but still weak. More thoughts on it when I write my review tomorrow. I won’t be dropping this show ever, for the sake of continuity.

Good Witch of the West 2: for some reason Adale reeks of loli. I like it, I like it.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni 5: The collective mass of the breasts of main characters in this show almost doubled. Lovely.

Himawari 2: I was not expecting this of a ninja reverseloli show. Strength in the show. Power. Beautiful. Watching this through to the end!

Joshikousei 4: sucky. Highest priority drop.

Naruto 178-183: wow, just wow. While it was refreshing to see Naruto again, these episodes kinda sucked. Animation quality was worse than Bleach and that’s saying something. And what happened to Naruto going fox? That’s what made the show good (aside from Haku.)

Ouran Bishie Host Club 5: wow, just wow. Fucking win. Second best show of the season. After the killer lolis.

Simoun 2: how can anyone hate this? It’s loliyurimilitary fun!

Strawberry Panic 5: loliyuri maid orgy. Win.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu 5: bah! Come on guys, this is getting crappy. Sure animation is still top-class but… the plot is identical to their shitty movie in episode 1. That’s NOT a good plot.

Tsubasa Chronicle 28: yuri vibes from Tomoyo. Acceptance from Sakura. Appreciation from Faye. Kurotan’s a tsunderekko. Syaoran x Ryuuoh yaoi. What could be better?

Utawarerumono 5: Hakuoro’s got the biggest harem ever, bitches. I take back everything I said about Utawarelongassname earlier- it’s gold.

it is moist & delicious meta

and it's not even a lie!

  1. There’s one thing in good witch of the west I didn’t exactly get… wouldn’t a princess have a hard time getting out of the castle during the night? Yet they were all there on their way to save Roux just-like-that… but I like this show very much. :) Can’t wait the OST too.

  2. I’m not liking the show a huge amount, and I feel that’s mainly because I’m not getting whatever it is that is good about it. All I know is that it’s a fine show that entertains me. Oh, and what I said about the Adale.

  3. was sure that the line “we have met the enemy and he is us” is from Shakespeare, but I cannot find it anywhere! Can you help?
