your thoughts have summoned this post from hell so, as i pray... Home > Archives > 2006 > April > 30 Fate/Stay-night – Episode 17
Most unnecessary, too. As I opened the ep 17 file, I still held all too clearly in my recollection the image of Saber and Emiya teaming up to impale Berserker. What makes a good wtfrecap, you might ask? You should be able to know from reading my previous posts, but just in case, I’ll tell you: Ilya.
Emiya’s got five chicks hanging on him now. He’d have more if he ever went to school, because that kyudo girl would totally let him string her bow. The beginning of the episode is kind of boring… harem trash. The six-man generation-spanning potential orgy eats a relaxed breakfast, or at least, until we got some nice news coverage from …
… FSN NEWS. Apparently, people have been going into comas. Who wouldn’t in a world full of bad jokes like this? FSN NEWS can give me a coma any day. So can Ilya.
Ilya acts like a good loli in front of Tiger and Purple, and pisses Tohsaka off a bit. It’s very refreshing to see, but is it actually entertaining? Not really. Haruhi’s better. Both of them. Tohsaka, Saber, and Emiya discuss tactics a bit before Ilya busts in and starts dancing for them. Lucky bastards. Ilya should dance for me. In the end, we meet a new Master… er, new? Come on FSN. Stop using the same character design AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN. The priest, Emiya’s adoptive father, and this new Master all have the same hair and eye color and facial structure- exactly the same. This better be intentional, because they haven’t given anyone green hair yet and character variation would be so easy to obtain a lack of it should be unforgivable. There’s some lamely animated fighting as per the precedents set earlier in the series. The best part of the second half of the episode was when Emiya “images” Archer’s twin swords, and Tohsaka melts seeing them. Oh the implications. The best part of the first half of the episode was… well…
There’s something almost Disney-like about this… it makes me think Bug’s Life. This is by far the most awesome facial expression of anime of all time, beating the previous collective record of Yumi’s reactions. Even Rena’s facial contortions … they do nothing. |
it is moist & delicious meta and it's not even a lie! |
