your thoughts have summoned this post from hell so, as i pray... Home > Archives > 2006 > April > 07 Disecting a Season (or two)I’ve finally found a direction for this blog. Root out crap and rag on it! I’ll be employing the famous “divide and conquer” tactic in this process: first, we take apart a season and isolate the bad shows, and then we suffocate them! With all this, what I guess I’m saying is expect more posts a la Kashimashi and Soul Link. I don’t plan on using screen shots for these unless I really, really need to in order to get a point across (or if there’s something adequately amusing.) So expect a lot of text. In addition to this, I will make random posts on random episodes of random shows I’m watching as the inspiration strikes. Something like this went through my head last year:
If similar thoughts course through my brain in the future, this blog will surge with activity. The last kind of post I’ll be making (in addition to the “inform my readers of things” news like this one) will be episodal notes on a show, as I’m pretty much already doing with Fate/Stay-night (and Kn5n2, if I get my hands on more fansubs!) As always, these won’t be very informative, and will mainly consist of screenshots that can be made fun of along with some derisive laughter and derogatory jokes. The bottom line is, if you’re here because you want to stay on top of the anime world, and know what’s what, and what’s happening in the episode X of series X, this is the wrong place and you should leave. If you want to stay on top of the anime world, and know what’s crap and what’s amusing, and read my geniusly opinionated entries, be my guest. Finally, I’ve got some schedule changes to make as to anime I’m watching this season. ^_^ The Watch List Fate/Stay-night – I’m going to see this through. It’s half over anyway, right? And it looks like there’ll be more Ilya. And Ilya’s hotness in a loli container. Mai Otome – whee, done, and with an ending “sasuga Sunrise.” Still got an OVA on my radar, but I don’t need to keep track of the show anymore. Kashimashi – as fansubs are released that I can watch on my computer, I shall watch them. This is part of my promise with an AOST forumgoer as to completing shows. I sort of don’t want to watch another episode. The show sucks. Magikano – is it just me or are fansubs a tad behind? Maybe my resources are rusty. I gotta finish me this shit. Two to go. REC – one more ep to watch. Frankly, I could deal with more. It’s a lot better than a lot of things I’m watching this season. Ergo Proxy – it’s looking better and better. EDIT: AND BETTER. I’ll see it through the end, unless Lil dies and Vincent turns out to be a sniper with an interest in old men (Hude, Queen.) Shinigami no Ballad – the last episode, 6, should be fansubbed within a day or two, and I should be happily crossing this show of my list. Karin – waiting for more is embarrassing~! Soul Link – I’m watching it out of duty now, and will most likely drop it in an episode or three. Or maybe it’ll stop sucking. Joshikousei – I’m going to watch an episode or two and see how it goes, possibly blog on it if it sucks sufficiently. No high hopes for this, and I doubt I’ll get any enjoyment out of it. Kyou no Go no Ni – waiting on fansubs. Maybe I should go look up an air schedule for it and stop being antsy. Himawari! – now that I’ve seen the PV, there’s no way I can back down. Waiting on fansubs. Strawberry Panic - I read one chapter of the manga and am in love. Hopefully (and raw watchers indicate that hope is not necessary) the anime will live up to my expectations. Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu - I like words romanized with 3 u’s in a row. I like young people who share Haruka’s family name, mainly because until now that meant just Akane. I like Mikuru’s wallet-holder. I like Mikuru’s eye beam effects. I like the ED dance almost as much as Funky Cat Maybe. Simoun – lots of lily mouth-to-mouth. How can I say no? |

was sure that the line “we have met the enemy and he is us” is from Shakespeare, but I cannot find it anywhere! Can you help?
