She then observes our Rosa Foetida en Bouton look-alike riding a horse, and in that instant, the existance of angels is confirmed for her: she’s seen her angel, and it’s… well, see the above picture.

I’m putting loliyuri aside here, believe it or not. I’m going to look at this show (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu) in as serious a manner as possible. As such, I doubt this post will be very entertaining. Apologies, and look forward to Strawberry Panic 4.
To start off, I’m not going to say much about the show, or provide much background info. Its title is Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu. For some more info on Haruhiism, check out the following people’s opinions on the topic: Jpmeyer’s, Kurogane’s, Kozumura’s. This post is meant to add to the discussion already out there, not reintroduce a used phenomenon. I’m also assuming that the reader of this post knows a good deal about the show, that they might have seen an episode or two or read the various posts floating about the anime blogosphere.

Our hero faints from exhaustion and next wakes soundly tucked into his bed, Saber watching over him. However, there’s something else soundly tucked into his bed as well…

I’m going to be impatient and DEMAND that we receive a full version of the OP to Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Can anyone say, “best opening song since Avenger”? I hear people rave about how great the theme songs for Haruhi are, but … they’re not. Sure, the ED dance sequences are all kinds of awesome, but the songs themselves? Neither the OP nor ED are even good. Guys, open your eyes. Stop being deluded by the show. The songs are meh.
(On that note, why have the OP+ED of Haruhi dominated Kono Sono~’s radio since the 15th?)
(By the by, I’m less than impressed with the Engrish of Higurashi’s ED.)

Higurashi- I’m not gonna go in-depth on this one, but I’d like to give a thumbs-up to this series. I’m really impressed so far. It has the most interesting OP of the season (forgive me, Haruhi fanatics!) and does a scarygood job of combining loli, comedy, and horror/mystery. It’s far creepier than Tsukihime was already, and I imagine it’ll just get better… oh, and best. Eyecatch. Ever.
That aside, this week’s been kind of slow. I’m waiting for my final judgement on Utawarerumono episode 3, and anticipating episodes 3 of xxxHOLiC and .hack//Roots.
Disgaea 2 was a winner, and I’m definitely going to continue watching it. Soul Link 3, as predicted, sucked (comparably with Joshikousei 2) but hell, I’m bored. Haruhi 3 was great fun, but depending on how Higurashi goes it might not end up being my favorite anime of the season. Zegapain 2 was meh. I’ll probably drop it some time soon… did I mention I don’t care for mechas?
Oh, and an update on our goal: loliyuri ice cream now renders search results in Google! Unfortunately the first result is the old notdotq location… but more notably, the second set of results all comes from Kono Sono~! I didn’t think about it at the time they put a link up to me in their blogroll, but I guess the “loliyuri ice cream-” part of my link text was done for the goal’s benefit. I’m putting out a big thank you out to the team there. Thanks for your support, and may you have many gallons of loliyuri!
