your thoughts have summoned this post from hell so, as i pray... Home > Archives > 2006 > March > 29 Kyou no Go no Ni – first impressions
Let’s examine the following equations, given that nothing has a negative value… Ichigo Mashimaro = loli + kawaii + comedy + yuri As shown with mathematical logic, the inclusion of shoujo ai in Ichigo Mashimaro gives it a decisive edge over Kyou no Go no Ni. And this is why shoujo ai is good. This is why I’m a tad confused though. Who the fuck had the idea of taking Ichigo Mashimaro and adding boys?! That’s pretty much what Kn5n2 is, with a less loli art style. In fact, I think it does everything… less… than Ichigo Mashimaro. What made the strawberry marshmellow good was the extent to which everything was over done. The comedy, the characters, the loli cuteness- that’s what made it hilarious.
While the main character of Kn5n2 has facial expressions to rival Yumi’s, and shares Rosa Gigantea‘s family name, I really prefer having a twenty year old girl with a cosplay fetish in my loli animes, thank you. Let’s look at a list of differences between the first episodes of Ichigo Mashimaro and Kn5n2… Finished cigarettes: Male characters: Cute dogs: Little girls sucking on things: Sharpie on forehead: Micchan: Paper fan smackdowns: Booze! Seriously, paper fans, booze, and reflex testing isn’t that important in the long run. All that aside, imagine how hawt the after school chewing scene in Kn5n2 would have been if Satou had been a girl. Or the collarbone explanation… for guys (girls would be fine, too!) And, of course, when locked in a garage and having a girl pull his pants down in fright, Satou would have still been better off as a girl.
We don’t even need to rid the show of its supporting male cast. But if the show wants to be truly good… it’ll air episode 2 with a “SHIMATA!! Sumimasen… Satou wa onna no ko da yo! HA HA HA!” |
it is moist & delicious meta and it's not even a lie! 3 ResponsesLeave a Comment |
